This is an additional point worthy to mention that was made during one of the sessions in the Geneva UN, on Sept 17 Our friends Jimun and Je-Ok are reporting on these sessions, they are currently doing an internship with WFWPI in the UN Geneva offices; "During the event “Poverty & Family Breakdown” at the Human Rights Council, Mr. Jean Claude Legrand, UNICEF Regional Child Protection Advisor, mentioned that 8 million children are living in orphanages worldwide. Mr. Legrand said that in some regions 9 out of 10 children in orphanages actually do have parents. Poverty is often a reason why these children are living in orphanages. Mr. Legrand emphasized that family centered policies are needed and that the separation of families should be the last resource." >Je-ok Presser<
