On June 13, WFWP Albania held an event titled “Afternoon of Poetry” at the
Tirana community center. The meeting focused on sharing inspiration through
poetry recited by our guests. In fact, many of them are poets and writers. The first
performance featured a poem by Mrs. Meri Mezini, professionally recorded and
presented in the form of a videoclip, conveying a woman’s strife for dignity and
value of motherhood. Others dealt with the topic of nature and love. Additionally,
our young guest and Peace Academy graduate, Ms. Megi Dukeli, recited a
fragment from the work by a famous Albanian poet Gjergj Fishta, focused on the
strength of Albanian women. The meeting was moderated by Mrs. Marjeta Rroshi,
WFWP Albania Vice President who read a fragment from our Founder’s
bibliography, in which Mother Moon poetically describes nature and her
relationship with the Creator. Additionally, announcements were made about
recent and upcoming activities and Mrs. Drita Rexhepi, WFWP Board member,
presented a short lecture on the Five Principles of Peace, as a preparation for AfP
nominations. Altogether, seven individuals, including one man, were appointed as
new Peace Ambassadors.
The audience was very varied; our eldest gues and appointee was 81, Mrs. Violeta
Mita, who has a very contagious spirit of positivity and love for art. Other new
AfP were Mrs. Rozeta Koci, and Asja Mulgesi, both poets, Mrs. Nurije Baduni
and Mrs. Vera Tarifa, both retired teachers, Mr. Selfo Tarifa, a retired engineer and
Mrs. Flora Agollli, accountant and an activist of the Veterans’ Association. Mrs.
Agolli, who was the last appointee, unexpectedly shared about her excitement and
inspiration after having read a part of Mother Moon’s autobiography, which she
received through someone. “Today, I will go home and finish the entire book”, she
shared.
Besides, it was quite exceptional that we had quite a few men in the audience, and
they were even ready to sign the WFWP membership form.
The meeting concluded with a musical performance by Ms. Luiza Ruci and
refreshments.
