WFWP Italy - YOUNG PEOPLE AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: EDUCATING AND GROWING IN THE DIGITALFUTURE

On May 20, at the Sala delle Bandiere of the European Parliament Office in Italy, the

conference "Youth and Artificial Intelligence: educating and growing in the digital

future" was held, promoted by WFWP Italy and the Il Valore del Femminile

Association. The event brought together experts, institutions and representatives of

the educational world to discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by AI in the

education of the new generations.

Dr. Corazza, Head of the European Parliament Office in Rome, underlined the

European Union's attention to the development of AI, highlighting the need to

regulate its use to prevent it from prevailing over human decisions, unlike the United

States, where similar constraints are lacking.

Elisabetta Nistri, President of WFWP Italy, expressed the need to reflect on the

direction that AI is giving to our lives. "AI can be a valuable help, but it is up to us

whether it will become a tool for noble intentions or an amplifier of our flaws," she

said. She also stressed the importance of transferring educational content through

digital, given the propensity of young people towards this medium, but without

neglecting the risks of the virtual world.

Virginia Vandini, President of Il Valore del Femminile, presented AI as an

opportunity to overcome dualism and reconnect us to the sacred dimension of life.

She emphasized the importance of preserving what makes us human – intuition,

emotion, and meaning-making – by calling ourselves "emotional, collective, and

spiritual intelligence."

The conference highlighted the dual nature of AI: a powerful tool for progress, but

also a source of educational and societal challenges. The key lies in the balance

between innovation and human values, with a call for collective wisdom to steer

technological development towards the common good.
