WFWP Sweden - Midsummer Family Festivities

WFWP-Sweden held a joyful Midsummer family gathering June 20-22 in Kloten, Sweden with
around 30 participants. The venueplace is located in deep forest with several lakes nearby. The
weekend included traditional midsummer festivities with songs and dances around the midsummer
pole, shared outdoor meals, canoeing, nature walks and plenty of time for deep sharings. Attendees
stayed in a large traditional farmhouse or in nearby cabins. A scheduled WFWP meeting featured
european activities and news presented by Vigdis Parkins. Rokeya Begum gave a presentation about
clean water projects in Bangladesh and shared about her work as a Douala helping women in
childbirthing. Four men from MSW (men supporting women) also attended this meeting and Jan Peter
Östberg shared what inspired him to want to join WFWP in this supportive way The event was
refreshing and greatly appreciated, with heartfelt thanks to the Freelands family for hosting.
