WFWP Portugal in cooperation with UPF held this talk in a public school
in Sobral, Portugal, on the theme of ‘Character Education and Conflict Resolution. It took place on 11 June 2014 in front of 7 teachers and about 100 students. Please see this report by Marta Rodriguez, President of WFWP Portugal: "This was a character education seminar for the 4th grade students. It was organised by our Peace Ambassador Prof. Cristina Pêssego. This time the seminar took place in the School auditorium, The students were between 10 and 12 years old. There were 2 sessions with different group of teachers. Marta Rodrigues gave the introduction, presenting WFWP and our work to find peace trough universal principles, true love and the importance of character education at a young age. Sérgio Vieira came also this time, representing UPF, and gave the lectures on the themes “The necessity of character education” & “Conflicts resolutions”. The kids were very attentive and participated well. The teachers were also very happy with the material being taught to the children as it is important for their development into mature human beings. This was a very positive event and we are looking into expanding this seminar model by getting into partnerships with other schools to teach the material on a broader level."
