“Female creativity: from pain to value” was the theme of the conference held at the
European Parliament headquarters in Italy – Europe Experience Davide Sassoli on
December 2nd, 2025, organized through the collaboration between Forza e Bellezza Aps
and WFWP Italy.
It was a conference that followed a different format because it gave space to listening
to the direct experiences of people who have gone through stories of trauma, violence, and
loss and showed how creativity can be a tool for resistance, healing, and rebirth.
Women from various fields (psychologists, entrepreneurs, journalists, artists) who work with
victims of violence and exclusion spoke, as well as women who have sought and found their
autonomy and new life projects.
Of particular note was the presence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of
Afghanistan to Italy, H.E. Khaled Ahmad Zekriya, who recalled the dramatic situation of
women in Afghanistan, emphasizing that women's dignity is a matter of global justice.
He expressed the concept that Afghan society is one in which half the
population—women—is being progressively erased from public life. After August 2021,
Afghanistan saw women disappear from schools, offices, parks, and even shops. Every
fundamental right—education, work, freedom of movement—was denied to them. Added to
this is a humanitarian crisis that affects everyone, but women suffer a double condemnation:
that of hunger and that of invisibility.
A central theme was the strength of the alliance between women, understood as a
concrete network of support and sharing, not as abstract rhetoric.
Annamaria Santagati's Manifesto illustrated how pain, if accepted, can be transformed into
awareness and new possibilities.
