On 22 October, 75 people from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds gathered for a WFWP and UPF Peace Studies evening in Birmingham.

The event also included an act of kindness, as participants brought clothing, dry food, and toiletries to be distributed to homeless people through local Christian churches.

The theme of the evening was “How to Develop Our Capacity to Love,” exploring how love begins with ourselves and our families and can extend to the wider community and world.

Following the main presentation, participants shared inspiring reflections and watched a WFWP video highlighting women's unique role in peacebuilding. The programme also included a moment of quiet reflection and a beautiful musical performance by Viola, who sang “Colours of the Wind.”

The evening concluded with a shared meal, creating opportunities for new friendships and meaningful connections. Participants left with renewed inspiration, hope, and a deeper sense of unity.

The gathering was a wonderful reminder that peace begins with love, grows through understanding, and becomes stronger through acts of kindness.
