“HEART AND CODE: The new frontiers of Consciousness in the digital age” is the theme of the conference that took place on February 18 at the Europe Experience room at the European Parliament office in Italy promoted by The Value of the Feminine and the Women's Federation for Peace in the World. The speakers who followed one another touched on the topic from different perspectives, bringing a valuable contribution. In essence, at the end of the work, everyone was able to understand that technology is not in fact neutral, but reflects the values of those who design it and those who use it. It can be a valuable tool of support and help, but it must be used with awareness. Unfortunately for some, especially for young people, it risks taking the place of the friend, becomes a companion to be consulted at any time of the day or night, replaces the advice of the psychologist, risks replacing one's own conscience itself.

The president Elisabetta Nistri who took care of the closing of the conference highlighted the fact that some of the Fathers of AI have dissociated themselves and have left their position even renouncing a large fee, for the concern that that creature that at the moment attracts so much interest, could surpass and subjugate the human race. Another illustrious collaborator has left due to disagreements with the administrator on the direction to be taken regarding safety and ethics. He founded another AI app built from the beginning on constitutional AI principles, namely an AI driven by an explicit set of principles and safety.

In the end, the problem that emerges is that men themselves have not yet come to the affirmation of UNIVERSALLY RECOGNIZED VALUES that all peoples can respect and on which consequently also to base the codes to which AIs should refer.

Not to mention the costs and impact that AI has on the environment, due to the very high consumption of energy and water to cool data centers.

Every question we ask AI leads to a huge energy consumption, when we use our brain, keep it healthy and trained.

To conclude, let's use AI with awareness, and we don't give up our creativity, the real experiences that life offers us and that allow us to grow, learn, experiment and discover our true identity. We do not give up taking care of our deepest intimate nature, listening to and managing our emotions, and taking care of relationships with others. None of this can be given to us by an app.
