On Saturday 1st November, Mrs. Myrabelle Corlett, Chairperson WFWP Malta. attended a public talk given by Dr. Raymond C. Xerri hosted at IL-HAGAR, Heart of Gozo's museum in Victoria Gozo.
The event was attended by two other friends of WFWP, Ms. Olive Zammit and Ms. Geneva Corlett.
The Title of the talk 'Our Nation's Diaspora' attracted enough people who filled the hall to capacity while around two thousand others followed internationally online.
Dr. Xerri explained how " Malta and Gozo are among the smallest island states with one of the highest outward populations with citizens in 171 countries and territories."
Being a Diaspora Expert, Academic, Genealogist and Career Diplomat in his own right, Dr. Xerri shared a well-informed narrative of his bestselling publication, 'Gozitan Crossings - The Impact of migration and return migration on an island community.'
The presentation was very well received, leaving many sitting on the edge of their seats making the Q&A session that followed lively and informative.
