Together with UPF Netherlands, WFWP Netherlands hosted a dinner event to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Families. The gathering brought participants together for an evening of learning, reflection, and meaningful exchange on the importance of family in society.
The program featured two presentations. Margriet Noot, a former teacher and attachment specialist, emphasized the crucial role of strong family bonds in the healthy development of children. She explained that children thrive through secure attachment, loving guidance, and emotional safety, while warning that modern society increasingly relies on professional systems to replace parental relationships, often weakening family connections. She stressed that strengthening families should be one of society’s highest priorities.
Elizabeth Giuliano then introduced the vision and activities of WFWP International, highlighting how the organization’s work aligns closely with the values celebrated on the International Day of Families. She shared examples of WFWP initiatives that promote family values, peacebuilding, and community development around the world.
Following the presentations, participants engaged in a lively question-and-answer session, providing an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and get to know one another better. The evening concluded in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, offering both a celebration of family values and a valuable opportunity for dialogue and learning.
