On 25 May, around 35 people gathered in the Zürich area of Switzerland to celebrate Africa Day, commemorating its establishment in 1963. Around half of the participants came from African countries, including Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Togo, and Ghana, many wearing beautiful traditional dress that added colour and vibrancy to the celebration.

Sponsored by the Women's Federation for World Peace and the Family Federation for World Peace, the event was largely organized by Celestine Fonki from Cameroon. She introduced a project she has established in her home country to support women in developing small businesses. The program also featured an introduction to the Women's Federation's work across parts of Africa, an informative presentation on water and hygiene by Naomi Chi Mdum, and lively music that encouraged everyone to sing and dance together.

An exhibition of traditional clothing, jewellery, books, and cultural artefacts from various African nations offered further insight into the continent's rich heritage. The celebration concluded with a delicious shared meal of African cuisine prepared by many of the participants. The joyful atmosphere and warm fellowship made the day a memorable celebration of African culture and community. Heartfelt thanks go to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success.
