On 17 October 2026, WFWP held a special programme in Szeged, Hungary, bringing together five guests and ten members for an introduction to Japanese culture.

The programme began with Szeged WFWP leader Gabriella Papné Dancsó, who introduced WFWP, its founders, goals, and activities both internationally and in Hungary.

The main speaker, Tokiko Hódi, then gave a lecture entitled “Japan from a Woman’s Viewpoint.” She explored Japan as a traditionally male-centred society while also highlighting its feminine cultural expressions, particularly the concept of kawaii (cuteness), which is appreciated by adults as well as children.

Following the lecture, participants enjoyed a hands-on cultural experience by preparing Japanese rice balls and sushi. One of the guests also had the opportunity to try on a traditional kimono with the help of Tokiko Hódi.

The gathering offered a lovely opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, share experiences, and strengthen friendships through cultural exchange.
