WFWP Middle East - WFWP at the 15th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

From 26 September to 1 October 2026, the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
As part of its ongoing engagement with the United Nations in Vienna, the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) organised a side event on 27 September entitled “Highlighting Educational Initiatives for Crime Prevention: Educating for Peace and Lasting Peace.”
Featuring four speakers, including a contribution by Mrs Moriko Hori via Zoom, the conference explored the vital role of education in preventing crime, fostering a culture of peace, and building safer communities.
The event also brought together women leaders and participants from Europe, Kuwait, Syria, and Lebanon, creating valuable opportunities to exchange experiences, strengthen connections, and share initiatives that promote peace and community safety.
For the WFWP Regional Director for the Middle East, the gathering was a particularly meaningful opportunity to reconnect with familiar colleagues and meet new women committed to positive change in their communities.
Beyond the conference, the event strengthened relationships among WFWP members and increased awareness of the organisation’s work within the United Nations.
Through international cooperation and education for peace, WFWP continues to advocate for safer communities and a more peaceful world.
