On March 18, President Elisabetta Nistri met with Reem Al-Hajajreh, president of the organization
Women of the Sun, and Yael Admi, president of the organization Women Wage Peace—both
nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize and organizers of the Peace March to be held in Rome on March
24. On that occasion Israeli and Palestinian women will march together to demand that their children
no longer be destined to become victims or killers. The meeting was very constructive and provided
an opportunity to get to know one another personally and share the goals of their respective
organizations. President Elisabetta Nistri was able to witness the courage of the two leaders, who
serve as the voice of the two peoples calling for peace, as well as their efforts to demonstrate that
constructive dialogue is possible. When the president outlined the goals that drive WFWP, they
responded with great enthusiasm, saying that this is exactly what they aim to do through THE
MOTHERS CALL movement—namely, to encourage women to listen to their hearts as mothers and
to promote resilience and forgiveness, emphasizing that we are all mothers regardless of where we
come from, and that it is our hearts and our shared experiences that must unite us to overcome
conflicts.
A deep desire arose on both sides to foster a potential collaboration between the organizations.
