WFWP UK - Bridge of Peace Ceremony in Edinburgh

On Saturday, 5 September 2026, the Women’s Federation for World Peace Scotland hosted a Bridge of Peace Ceremony at the Southside Community Centre in Edinburgh.

The event began with an introduction by WFWP Scotland Chairperson Harumi Currie, who explained the history and purpose of this unique ceremony. Participants were then randomly paired to form new “sisterhood” and “brotherhood” connections, symbolising friendship, mutual understanding, and unity beyond cultural and social boundaries.

Everyone was encouraged to nurture these connections through meaningful actions, such as visiting each other’s families, supporting community projects, and sharing experiences. The ceremony offered a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships and contribute to building a global family of peace.

The afternoon concluded with a group photo and a celebratory cake, bringing everyone together in a warm spirit of friendship and unity.

Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, WFWP Scotland continues to promote peace, understanding, and lasting connections between people.
